This exchange reminds me to publicize an effort we have just started. We (the Utah Raster Toolkit maintainers) frequently get queries of the sort "How do you do XYZ with the toolkit?" Sometimes the answer is simple, other times it is not, and sometimes it requires writing a new tool. The current set of manual pages tells you (barely) what each tool does, but it's hard to find the right tool for a specific job. So, we thought we should write a "cookbook" that would tell you which tool or combination of tools to use to get X or Y or Z done. Since we're all such busy guys, we can't do it all (heck, we can't even get the next patch out the door). Thus, we are soliciting all you URT users out there to send us your favorite "recipes".
