I've been asked to survey net.land regarding user impressions on NCARGraphics Version 3.0 with regard to ease of use, reliability, robustness of algorithms, and so forth. We are looking at the possibility of replacing our current graphics software package, CA/DISSPLA (mostly due to cost), and NCAR has been suggested as a replacement. (We actually have NCAR in house and some folks are using it but our MIS types are somewhat leery of anything that is not supported in the same way a commercial package is.) Please send your comments either via reply to this message or to the address in the .signature ("me toos" to the same place and I'll be glad to forward what information I receive). If there is sufficient interest, I'll summarize to the net. spl (the p stands for putting my feelers out) -- Steve Lamont, SciViGuy -- (408) 646-2752 -- a guest at network.ucsd.edu -- NPS Confuser Center / Code 51 / Naval Postgraduate School / Monterey, CA 93943 "When people are programming virtual 5-D webs of glowing spidersilk by pure thought power -- there will still be hackers."
