Besides TranScript, another item worth looking into is devps from Pipeline Associates. I have not had a chance to examine the package, just the brochure they sent, but they claim to translate troff (otroff) and ditroff (troff) files to PostScript including some extra font support, graphics merging, etc. They also have a much more attractive price than Adobe. Pipeline is at 39 East Twelfth St, NY NY 10003; they sell licenses through SSC at P.O. Box 55549, Seattle WA 98155 (203)367-UNIX I am not associated with either of these companies in any way save that they responded promptly and courteously to a phone request for info. Again, I have not had a chance to check the code and so cannot vouch for it. Michael Fischbein msf@prandtl.arpa

Some people are suggesting users consider devps (from Pipeline Assoc.) instead of TranScript (from Adobe). This is well and good unless the user wants to translate troff (as it says in this header) to PostScript. When I checked devps only handled ditroff. This was about 6 months ago so they may have changed the product. We use TranScript which also has its problems.-- Thanks for your time. Paul Graham seismo!unrvax!pjg
