A researcher who also has a Comtal Vision One/20 sent me a note reading in part: > We're running. . .on a VAX 11/780 under 4.2bsd. . . > . . .from time to time we experience some serious > side-effects with image transfers to and from our Comtal. (Hung > processes, locked DMF-32, and even an occasional corrupted file system.) > Comtal's best advice is to add a separate UBA for the Comtal > interface, a solution that's a bit beyond our budget. Can you put > me in touch with some users with similar installations who may > have resolved the problems we're having? We don't have such problems here at elsie--but it's different software and hardware (More/bsd 4.3 on an 11/750; not much on the UBA, for example, no UDA50). So I'll pass the question on: has anyone out there resolved the problems the researcher is having? If so, or even if you're simply have a UNIX-VAX-Comtal system, I'd appreciate hearing from you. -- UNIX is a registered trademark of AT&T.
