We are in the process of revising our Nutshell Handbook, Managing UUCP and Usenet. Most of the revisions have to do with HoneyDanBer UUCP, but we'd also like to clean up some other details. I'll probably be posting questions a few more times, but here are a few for starters: 1. The 3B1 (UNIX PC) and other machines developed by Convergent Technologies have a file called modemcap, which works along the lines of termcap, for describing various dialers. Does any other manufacturer use this file? 2. How is the system id set on Berkeley 4.3 systems? 3. Where can I get information on running UUCP over a LAN in Berkeley UNIX? 4. Does anyone out there have any really hairy and interesting chat that they've made to work? We're looking for more good examples of problem situations and how to work around them. We will protect the names of all systems involved, but will gladly give credit for any scripts we use. Please reply by mail, since I don't usually read this newsgroup. -- LIVE: Tim O'Reilly (617) 527-4210 USPS: O'Reilly & Associates, Inc., 981 Chestnut Street, Newton, MA 02164 UUCP: ..!{harvard | decvax!linus!axiom}!adelie!ora!tim -- -- LIVE: Tim O'Reilly (617) 527-4210 USPS: O'Reilly & Associates, Inc., 981 Chestnut Street, Newton, MA 02164 UUCP: ..!{harvard | decvax!linus!axiom}!adelie!ora!tim
