Bowie FLASH: Two nights ago, CFNY-FM (to paraphrase the Clash, The Only Station That Matters) played a thirty minute interview with Bowie recorded that morning in London, England. Bowie will be starting a 90 city tour in Europe soon, and will be appearing in many cities in North America this July and August. The tour is titled "Serious Moonlight", and the stage show is described as "elaborately simple, tasteful, yet trashy...don't expect that much in terms of a character show, but it *will* be a good music concert." He says that "this will the first tour in five years, so for me it will be more than exciting. It's kind of terrifying, but that will possibly help the performance!" The band will consist of Bowie, Carlos Alomar, Tony Thompson, and Stevie Ray Vaughn(?). They will play various songs from each of Bowie's "periods", and of course some new music. Two Bowie movies are being released this spring: "The Hunger" and "Merry Christmas, Mr. Lawrence". In case you've been vacationing in the Antarctic, you know that Bowie has put out a new single "Let's Dance", and will release a new album soon. Bowie has signed a big contract with EMI, because RCA wasn't aggressive enough with some of his albums (Did you notice any publicity for Lodger?). Looks like I'll ***FINALLY*** get to see Bowie in concert... Jan Gray ...watmath!csc
