  The semester I used a Gould machine it seemed to be down quite a bit. I
  don't know whether it was software or hardware ( hardware my guess). The
  other problem I had was having to put a special /* something or other */
  before large arrays or structures. That made porting code from a Vax to
  the Gould quite bothersome.
