We are getting a number of 2400 baud modems for our VAX 750 running BSD 4.3, and are concerned that the overhead of servicing our DZ11 will start to eat a substantial part of the machine. One solution may be to get a DMF32, which wins by hacking DMA. Has anybody had experience with the differences in using these two devices? Can you recommend an alternative (low cost) solution that might work better? Does the BSD driver handle the DMF32 reasonably? Please reply by mail to me, since I don't regularly read netnews. dca@eddie.mit.edu !seismo!mit-eddie!dca
