In some article ...@mimsy.UUCP (and why is not it in the References
line?) I wrote

Indeed: that was the whole point of the conditional:  It can be
done if and only if (`iff') the file has at least one name.

If there were an `flink' system call (analagous to 4.2's fchown
and fchmod), one could simply give the file a name, then print it.
