[comp.unix.questions] Finite element analysis software for UNIX

To assist my alma mater (LeTourneau College) move to a UNIX environment from
VMS, I am seeking information on software to perform finite element analysis
under UNIX.  A version of UNIX has not been selected yet, but the hardware is
a micro-vax.

If you have any information on such packages, commercial, public domain, or
somewhere in between, please let me know.
