Is anyone using a MicroVAX with BSD 4.3 as a gateway? We are trying to config 4.3 to have 2 ethernet boards (DEQENA's) and the system keeps crashing. When we configure the kernel with one board, the system works fine. Both ethernet boards have the right (one fixed and the second one floating) csr and vector addresses. When the system locks, both boards still work as a gate. (They still allow you to connect through them.) If someone is using a MicroVAX in this configuration (or something similar), could you explain what might be the problem. Thanks in advance.... What Tom forgot to say was that it is Mt. Xinu 4.3 that the MicroVax is running. We need to get this system running ASAP as it is the gatway for an entire campus, and we have lots of impatient people waiting on it. nomad@orstcs ------------------------- LEE DAMON FidoNet: 152/201 (The Castle) - (503) 757-8841 nomad@cs.orst.edu CSnet: nomad@oregon-state.csnet "Real soon now!" I would like to make a note of the fact that I have almost simultaneously posted a note with a similar problem. We are bringing up our first 4.3BSD system and we decided to configure this initial system with two DEQNA's instead of converting from Ultrix 1.2 and rebuilding a 4.3 kernel for the second DEQNA. I also posted a note to request information about two DEQNA's with Ultrix 1.2. Does the MicroVAX II and UNIX have a unique problem running two ethernet contollers? This could be my first major planning flaw.
