I'm looking for references to research into the influence of a programming environment on one's development style. For example (and, actually, specifically), one might suspect that developers in a UNIX environment might tend to create tools and other programs that are small, single-function units, similar in nature to basic UNIX commands. Has this (UNIX specifically, or development environments in general) been researched?
