[comp.unix.questions] Help needed getting VAX/VMS BACKUP tapes to Sys V

rwb@viusys.UUCP (Rick Butland) (08/17/87)

Does anyone have any experience moving data from a DEC VAX/VMS system to a
USG system? I have a lot of nine-track tapes, written in the VMS Backup
utility format, which I'd like to load to my machine. I can have the tapes
re-done in a more reasonable format, if that's a help. Any code, scripts,
techniques that someone is willing to share?

Thanks in advance,

Rick (rwb@viusys)

There was a program posted to the net several months back called
"vmsbackup" that does just that (we have used it here).
