[comp.unix.questions] Intel assebler for System V ver. 2,3...

mitchell@cadovax.UUCP (Mitchell Lerner) (09/23/87)

Sorry to be redundant, but...

I now know what we need!

We need an assembler that runs under System V, that will assemble all
Intel mnemonics and produce an executable. We would like it
to be able to produce a ascii-hex file which we could then upload
to our micro which knows how to translate and execute ascii-hex.
If it produced an a.out format file we would have to write some
program that would convert a.out format into the format our micro
can understand.

Systems & Software in Costa Mesa has such a beast for BSD... I wonder how
portable it is (how hard would it be to port)???

Thanks.
