Does anyone know of the existence of any assemblers that run on Unix that are compatible, or near-compatible with the Microsoft Macro Assembler? We want to port some DOS assembler code to a 386 AT running Microport's SVR3, and would be interested in hearing about anything that could make the task easier.

I couldn't find a UUCP path from our machine to yours, so I'm posting... I just so happened to have talked with a company called Phar Lap Software, Cambridge MA (617) 661-1510 and they have a Microsoft directives compatable (386, 286, 186, 086) assembler/environment that runs under DOS. We are Looking for an Intel directives compatible assembler/environment that runs under System V Unix. They told me that they could port it for us with no problem if our order was substantial enough (not too large for our buget). Alas, there system is Microsoft and not Intel directives compatable and for that we would have a large recoding effort. Hope this helps! (if anybody out there know were I can find a solution to what I'm looking for... don't hesatate to let me know!) -- Mitchell Lerner UUCP: {ucbvax,ihnp4,decvax}!trwrb!cadovax!mitchell "When I fight with my mind, my mind always wins" - Ben Hummel
