Does anybody know of an economical source of device drivers for DEC's
kmc-11b and dub-hi interfaces? The kmc-11b is apparently a front-end
that off-loads work from the cpu, and the dub-hi is needed to make the
kmc-11b work off the Unibus. I'm looking for drivers to support these
on a VAX-11/785 running 4.3BSD from Berkeley. It may not be within our
budget to get a supported implementation of 4.3BSD such as Ultrix or
More/BSD.
If you believe that 4.3BSD already supports this hardware and I
overlooked this, please point this out and tell me how to configure it
into the system. We have source code.
The objective is to allow the system to be accessed via AT&T's
Integrated Services Network, and I'm told that using the kmc-11b is one
way of doing this.
Email will help conserve network bandwidth and I will summarize for the
net, but I will also watch for follow-up postings.
