Lately my mailbox has been full of requests to get off of UNIX-Info and UNIX-Wizards mailing lists. I have several suggestions for you folks: First, send your requests to "info-unix-request" and "unix-wizards-request". If they don't seem to be responding, try "root@brl-sem.mil" and "postmaster@brl-sem.mil". Do NOT send them to "info-unix@...", etc. There's a reasonably good chance that the moderator himself is not on the mailing list! After all, he's presumably already seen it all. Not to mention that all of us on the list really don't need to clutter our disk, mailboxes, bandwidth and precious time with this $%&*@#. Next, don't assume you're getting your stuff from the Moderator. I don't, and a hell of a lot of other local folks don't. The University of Michigan has an info and wizards forwarder which spreads these lists around locally. One of the copies come to me, and I in turn feed it into another forwarder to distribute it at work. Take a close look at your routing, and see if any of the intermediate sites are generating your lists. Universities you may be affiliated with are good candidates. I would guess network gateways are another possible source, but don't have any directS.COMgrp.grp.
