Ah. I have just received a brand new whizbang Toshiba P351 Model 2
printer, which is capable of some marvelous feats (for a dot matrix printer).
What I need to know is how to make nroff output REASONABLE sequences to
generate bold and underlined text. The default backspace-after-every-
character cruft isn't cool...it's going to shake my new printer, and its
printer stand, to pieces in short order!
Environment: Tandy 6000, running XENIX 3.0. The nroff supplied seems
to be SYSIII nroff, I have ms, man, and mm macro packages. The document
currently vibration testing my printer was formatted under the MS macros.
I tried using the program and information posted to comp.sources.unix
several months ago to build my own printer driver table with absolutely no
luck whatever. No matter WHAT I did, if I used a table built by that
program, it just *TRASHED* my file (no aspersions on the author of the
program intended...I am sure the fault lies in some stupidity committed
at and by Tandy).
I have tried unsuccessfully to obtain the needed information from Tandy.
They claim that this information is (hold on to your keyboard!) PROPRIETARY!
What a bunch of unmitigated hogwash!
In any case, if anyone out there can help, I would be DEEPLY appreciative.
I would even be tempted to say THANK YOU! (-:
