Keywords: This is my first posting, so please flame me if I sound like an idiot... I'm having a problem with uudecode and I thought maybe someone out there in netland might be able to help me with (yep, a dangling preposition). A friend sent me a bit-mapped image to use as a background for my Sun. He uuencode'd it and sent it in parts, numbered so I could put them in the right order. Well, I stripped off the mail headers, cat'ed them into a file called "junk" (yes, in the right order), and when I attempt to uudecode junk, uudecode fails with "No end line." The resulting unencoded file is about 37k, but it should be about 128k. When I tail junk, the last line says "end", so I'm not sure what the error message means. Has anybody out there encountered this. Please email your responses. I will post results if people care... Thanks very much in advance! Dave Stein "Life's a clambake."
