Does anyone know of a good, simple full-screen editor in the public domain (or VERY cheap), which runs well on an IBM-PC, UNIX SysV and BSD 4.2-3? Source Code would be needed. Preferably written in 'C'. Please respond via E-mail. It's vi. The PC version lists for $150, and I've seen it for $100. Is that cheap enough? ========================================================================= Hal Heydt | Analyst, Pacific*Bell | Real men write self 415-645-7708 | modifying code. {dual,qantel,ihnp4}ptsfa!pbhya!whh |

You might try JOVE. The latest Unix version is available by anonymous ftp from rochester.arpa. I *think* that the same code can be used for the PC version (the include files refer to ms dos). You might try writing to jpayne@cs.rochester.edu (Jonathan Payne), the author of the program. He has been very helpful to me in the past. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Dave Goldberg ARPA: dsg@mitre-bedford.arpa The Mitre Corporation UUCP: linus!mbunix!dsg MS B015 Bedford, MA 01730 617-271-2460
