I have noticed that doing writes takes anywheres from 50% to 100% slower than reads on a Sun-3. To speed things up a little I would like to do an asynchronous write where the OS writes the data when it pleases but does not make my program take a hit for it. Does anybody know of a way this can be done or is done? Please respond to: rfox@ames-amelia.ARPA thanks rich
