I'm running SCO 2.1.3 Xenix on a 286 machine (sperrypc it) and i am trying to get the lpsched to actually get off of its duff and do some work. We don't have any printers physically attached to the machine, so what i have done is set up interface files for each printer that actually generates a remote print request (via. a uux command) to a another machine. This scheme works just dandy on the other machines that i have (btw, if anyone wants the software that i have developed, drop me a line and i'll shar it back to you), but whenever i turn on the scheduler it turns itself back off (sometimes it says it can't reopend stderr, but i think that is when i had a "set -vx" line in the interface file for debugging purposes. Even a single echo line doesn't seem to work. Hopefully, Xenix doesn't *require* a printer to be physically hooked up does it? I want to be able to fake it out. Or is it something to do with device names that have to be linked to this or that that i'm not doing? any advice/comments/witticisms (constructive) would be helpful, derek -- Derek Terveer root@corum.UUCP ..!clyde!lily!corum!root
