Hiho netpeople, We use an AT&T 3B2/400 running System V Release 3.1. We use a couple of Hayes-compatible modems and want very much to make them work going both directions, but we find that cu and uucico won't make the call unless run with debug mode (-xN, N > 0). We run the modems in "CD-really-reflects-carrier-detect" mode so we can detect the line going away, and Devices uses the "tty11,M" notation to say open without carrier. The Dialers file uses the \M<script>\m notation as well to enable modem- control once carrier is seen. If I flip the modem switch so CD is always on the transfer goes great, but otherwise we need to run debug. This is really a bummer -- has anybody seen this problem? Any suggestions?
