Yamaha has two additions to the Producer Series which I have not seen advertised in Keyboard, etc. (Sorry, no prices yet.) MS10 Monitor speaker. 5" inch speaker, 20 watts with 0.5% THD, 50 Hz - 20 KHz 0-3 db. Volume, treble, and bass controls. Package is shaped for either vertical or horizontal (with an upwards tilt) orientation. AC powered. MM30 Portable mixer. 4 channels. Tone, echo, pan and fader per channel. Each channel can select one of two sources: tape or line/microphone. 7 band equalizer plus VU display. 0.2% THD, -116 db S/N. AC powered. The MM30 looks like a good low cost board for four channel recording. I would expect a 4 channel cassette deck in the next year (pure speculation.) I have been using the MA10 headphone amp and MM10 mini-mixer. The MM10 is very quiet. If I had known about the MM30 last fall, I would have probably bought it instead since I want to go multitrack eventually. Overall, Yamaha appears to be entering the TEAC/Fostex market and a little more competition ain't bad for consumers. pj (Dr. Funk) drongowski decvax!cwruecmp!pjd
