*** I've got a terrible problem; at least I think its a terrible problem. Maybe its no problem at all, but I need to be convinced of that. I splurged on some nice copper cookware, the very heavy French made stuff. I definitely bought it to use, but I would like to display it as well. The problem is it scratches something awful from contact with the burner grate (gas stove). I've tried several copper cleaners, but they don't remove scratches, even with a lot of rubbing. Is there something I can do to prevent the scratching? Maybe a ceramic or glass burner ring. Is there something I can use to remove the scratches? I rather doubt it since it would need to be highly abrasive, and that would destroy the polished finish anyway. Maybe I just let it get scratched, and in 30 years there will be enough scratches to give the bottom a uniform appearance. While I,m on the subject of copper cookware, what's the difference between tin and nickel interior? How often does a tinned pan need to be retinned (assuming normal care)? Any special precautions that need to be taken on tinned pans? Thanks for any info that can be provided. Phil Cunetto ihlpg!pccx
