By now everyone knows that Secretary of the Interior James Watt wanted to ban the Beach Boys from the Fourth of July celebration in Washington because they attract young people taking drugs and drinking. Today's New York Times has an editorial titled "The Art of Being James Watt," which ends by saying: "... He is an endless source of invention, much like his 18th century namesake. That James Watt invented an engine that harnessed the motive power of steam. This one merely spouts off." Cute, huh? Scott Orshan Bell Labs Piscataway 201-981-3064 houxm!u1100a!sdo
