[net.cooks] camping recipes

Here are a couple ideas for cooking over a campfire. The first
also will work on a grill or in the oven.

"Packets"

Take a large piece of aluminum foil and place in it
sliced potatoes, carrots, onions, season to taste,
wrap up tightly and either bury in the coals or place on grill
or in oven (oven takes ~1/2 hour, i'm not sure on the others)
but if you want, you can even add a hamburger patty and it
should be done about the same amount of time.

This one is only for campfires.

"Cinnamon Bears"

Take 1 "clean" stick, bark may be shave off for the 'neatniks'.
Open your standard can of refridgerator biscuits.
Take out triangles of dough and roll each piece into a long rope.
Wrap this 'rope' around the stick in a coil.
Hold over flame til light brown.
May brush with melted butter and dust w/sugar & cinnamon.
Wait til cooled (if you can) and remove in a coil from the stick.
(failing that, eat directly from stick, burning mouth and
fingers:-)

Enjoy!
