[comp.unix.questions] Interface between UNIX and a FAX machine

mdorion@cmtl01.UUCP (Mario Dorion) (05/10/88)

I was wondering if it was possible to send faxes from a unix machine. Is there
a software somewhere that would take a standard ascii (text) file, convert
it to the proper graphic format that fax machines are using and send it out
through the modem.

Thanks in advance.

While I haven't done it (yet), ATTMAIL offers this service. You can get
and account and a uucp connection and then just mail to a fax number.

Their voice phone number is 1-800-367-7225.
