Can we PLEASE get the latest round of UNIX jokes into a more appropriate group! (Note follow-up line.) I'm having a lot of trouble wading through these to find messages asking about non-blocking read's:-) And now--> The pot calling the kettle black: From article <864@vsi.UUCP>, by friedl@vsi.UUCP (Stephen J. Friedl): > Instead of the normal message: > > Memory fault - core dumped > > we patched the shell to say > > Rogers fault - core dumped > Those who were on the CMU campus in the summer (?) of '87 might remember when a certain system developer accidently released a version of the C-shell to the entire campus in which the message Segmentation fault (core dumped) was changed to Excreting an apple (core dumped) -- unsigned *Wayne_Mesard(); "I have no doubt that it is a part of the destiny MESARD@BBN.COM of the human race, in its gradual improvement, BBN, Cambridge, MA to leave off eating animals." -Thoreau

Almost as funny as the "Andrew not found" that Messages once gave me. lAndrew: Are you of the body? -- @disclaimer(Any concepts or opinions above are entirely mine, not those of my employer, my GIGI, or my 11/34) beak is beak is not Anthony A.
