[comp.unix.questions] Computer call back and the 'ct' command

cmiller@hao.ucar.edu (Charlie Miller) (09/29/88)

A while back I posted an article about having a UNIX host computer
call back someone that had dialed up that computer, ran some
program, and then hung up. Several people responded with
reference to a command called 'ct' that is somewhat like tip except
that it spawns getty and login. I have not been able to find
any info on this command or where to obtain source for it. If
anyone knows more about this please email me.

Thanks.

ct(1) is part of the System V basic networking utilities package (i.e.
uucp). The best one is part of the HoneyDanBer uucp, which is
distributed in SVR3.0 and later (not sure about earlier releases). If
you have a System V license, you have the source, but you will need to
run HoneyDanBer uucp, as tehy are really an integrated package.
