[net.cooks] Apple Cider, Canadian style

susan@sftig.UUCP (S.Eisen) (10/11/85)

When I worked as a camp counselor in Ontario in '78 and '79, we often
used to get Apple Cider, an alcoholic beverage that came in six packs
like beer and had just a bit less alcohol than beer ~7%, I think. Any Canadians
out in netland ever had it, and has anyone seen it/had it in the US?
I don't remember any specific name brand, but there were a few. It was
an interesting change from drinking beer.

Ah, my favorite contraband. In Vancouver, BC, we'd get "Growers" (I think),
in Sweet and Dry varieties, and drink a lot on a weekend, and carry lot's
more back into the US on the way home. I still have a few bottles left
from V-con last year. GOOD STUFF
