[comp.unix.questions] Postcript Driver

marco@concour.concordia.cdn (Marco Zelada) (09/15/88)

Does anyone out there know if there is a postcript driver for
TROFF ?

If there is such thing, could you please tell me where to get it ?

We just got ourselves a postcript laser printer and want to attach it
to one of the UNIX machines for grad students to use.

Adobe was selling one under a name like "TransScript", and I'm fairly sure
SoftQuad also has one.

We just got ourselves a postcript laser printer and want to attach it
to one of our machines running under UNIX. We have VAX machines running
BSD 4.3 and SUN machines running SUN OS 3.4.

A package called EROFF includes a POSTSCRIPT driver, LASERJET driver,
X-Windows Troff Previewer or SUNVIEW Troff previwer, and new enhanced
versions of Troff, Nroff, Pic, Eqn, Tbl, Grap, and some other goodies.

Thalatta Corporation is announcing the availability of DEVPS for
SunOS 4.0. This in addition to SunOS 3.x and BSD 4.[23] (on VAXes)

DEVPS provides integral support of the Berkeley line printer spooler,
a troff-postscript filter, and the ability to print plain-text files in
either portrait or landscape (great for spreadsheets) format. It is a
*very* economical alternative to Transcript.

We are using something called 'dpost' here. I think it's part of
AT&T's documentor workbench package.

A few months ago a package called TPSCRIPT was posted in comp.sources.unix.
It works fine with DWB 2.0 troff.
If that's what you want...
