While moving our source code from a Vax to a Sun I discovered that someone wrote their own versions of _flsbuf, fflush, and fclose. The vax doesn't complain about this a bit but the Sun gripes (rightly so) about duplicate symbols. I need to know 2 things. First, which version is being linked into my code, the first one encountered or the last? And, it seems to me I'd be better off renaming them to z_fclose, etc. Anybody got some advice on this? I should mention I haven't yet figured out if his changes to these standard routines are only needed in his code or if the entire application needs them. The vax is running 4.3 BSD, the Sun 4.2 Release 3.5. Jim "In case of immenent nuclear destruction, I'll be in the Oreo aisle" -- Jim Harkins jlh@loral.cts.com may work.
