[comp.unix.questions] vacation program

mm%maths.qmc.ac.uk@nss.cs.ucl.ac.uk (Malcolm MacCallum) (12/19/88)

(For inclusion in digest)
I have received this potentially very useful program and compiled it but
attempts to use it break down, apparently because when the mailer looks at
the .forward file and feeds the mail into the pipe specified there
the first line of the data put down the pipe does not contain the expected
unix mail From line. We are using a variant of BSD 4.2, with the Berkeley
mailers including sendmail, on a local Ethernet. Does anyone know how
to fix this? To avoid multiple postings of the same advice, perhaps answers
should be sent to me direct and I will post any that work!
