[comp.unix.questions] Info wanted on maitrd/garcon

jklah@mipon2.intel.com (JK Lah) (02/09/89)

Hi guys,

Do you know anybody who has done some work on maitrd/garcon which is
a load balancing system developed at Berkeley a couple years ago?
It is a good program but has some room for improvement. I don't want
to reinvent the wheels if somebody has done it already.

Any info would be appreciated.
Thank you in advance.

You can say that again. The situation was: this vax, load=18+,
other vaxen load=0.2 and load=0.5; using maitrd the program will
execute on the loaded vax. Some improvement is needed indeed.
(It has to do with the fact that maitrd also looks at the number
of users and each window is a user.)
