[net.music] Come On Eileen lyrics

tommyo (04/29/83)

Hope you didn`t expect the whole song. I can understand about as much as
the average person. I`m sure you MTVers know the first line is
"Poor old Johnny Ray", who was a popular early 50s crooner.

Just before the chorus and the Too-ray-ayes out lead vocal sings

"Now I must say more than ever things round here`ve changed"

The chorus, best I can make out is
"Come on, Eileen! Oh I swear. At this moment, you mean everything.
With you undressed, my thoughts, I confess, (which) are dirty.
 Come on, Eileen".

Verse 2 begins "These people round here" and after some gibberish
goes "We are far too young and clever", and just before the chorus
again is " .. gonna hum this tune forever more".

If ANYONE has the complete lyrics, I`m sure there are others besides
myself who would love to see them, begorah.
