This is a quick, easy to make and very tasty
apple pie recipe.

APPLE MIXTURE
4 Large apples
1/2 cup sugar
2 tblsp plain flour
1 tsp. ground cinnamon

CRUST
1 stick of butter
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup plain all-purpose flour
1 cup chopped pecans
9 inch deep dish frozen pie shell

Slice the four apples into bowl. Add 1/2 cup
sugar, 2 tblsp of flour and 1 tsp cinnamon.
Mix together and pour into pie shell. Melt
the stick of butter and add to this the other half cup
of sugar along with the half cup of flour.
Blend this mixture till creamy then add the
pecans. Spread over the apple mixture.
Take two regular size brown grocery bags
(double-bagged) and slide the pie in.
Fold the bag in 1 1/2 inch folds about twice.
You may want to tear along your closure, folding
one tear down and the next up to insure the bag
remains closed. Pre-heat oven to 400 degrees and
cook pie for one hour. It may smell as if the bag
is burning - but it never has with us or others.
I'm not sure what the significance of the paper
bag is - I assume it makes for the nice crust on
top of the pie.
