We have a modem connected to a port on our system. This port is being used for both dialin and dialout. On several occasions a login will be terminated on that port that seems to result in a ctrl-S being left in the input buffer. I can only speculate that this is the result of some noise on the line. This has happened with both a uucp dialin and interactive dialins. QUESTION: how can I clear that port from the computer end (ie another terminal) short of disconnecting the modem and attaching a terminal and hitting ctrl-Q? Of course I could have someone call in on the modem line and hit ctrl_Q but that is not always possible and is usually not workable if a uucpp site is calling. When this situation occurs the system reports that the port is busy when trying to access it from another terminal. Thanks for any suggestions, Mark Citron citron@csvax.caltech.edu citron@cit-vax.caltech.UUCP
