[comp.unix.questions] Query on AT&T's BCI Driver Dev. Guide and Ref. Man.

andre@uts.amdahl.com (Andrew Lue) (04/27/89)

Several weeks ago someone recommended the following documents
for learning about the TTY subsystem and line discipline:

1. Unix SVR3 Block and Character Interface Driver Dev. Guide
   (select code 307-191); $200.

2. Unix SVR3 Block and Character Interface Driver Ref. Man.
   (select code 307-192); $150.

I just got off the phone with AT&T. The representative said
that the books were for Unix SVR3 80386 systems. Does anyone
know how much of the material pertains to '386 idiosyncrasies,
and how much of it is applicable to generic SVR3? I especially
concerned about the TTY and LD sections.

By the way, the books are backlogged until May 15.

Thanks, in advance.

Andrew
