[comp.unix.questions] How does UNIX SVR3 use FPU's

Does somebody in netland know to what extent the Unix SVR3 o/s and say standard
non-CAD non-graphics software utilises floating-point processors, if at all.

I have a choise between a 80386 cpu with either a 80287 FPU or 80387 FPU. Does
the more powerfull 80387 FPU make any difference if one is not running  
applications like CAD and/or Graphics.
