I work for the Department of Family Medicine at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. We are currently connected to the campus network (and then the world) bu means of a uucp connection from the Math department. THis works fine but as we are bringing more and more doctors onto the system our traffic has increased tremendously. Due to access problems, it is impossible to run the proper cable to hook us directly to the campus. I have been told that if we could find a copy of SLIPNET to run on our computers that with a dedicated phone line we could bypass the uucp connection and hook directly into the campus network. Being new at this, I have several questions : WHere does one obtain SLIPNET? DOes it run on AT&T 3b2's running UNIX SYS V In general, is this feasible and how do I go about it. I can receive email both uucp and NSFNET. My address is uucp uunet!uwvax!schaefer!dfmp1!jim NSFNET dfmp1!jim@schaefer.math.wisc.edu Any help or info will be greatly appreciated Jim Murray
