I'm sorry to waste bandwidth with this, but I have a problem I've seen being discussed on the net on many occasions, but which didn't concern me at the time. I've had a news feed to a Uniplus+ V.2 machine since October, but the last three mornings I have been greeted by df reporting only 1 inode on the news filesystem. fsck-ing the filesystem clears this. The filesystem was made for the purposes of news, and actually has as many inodes as it has blocks. What's the problem? What's the cure? Why did it take six months to start happening? Would clearing the filesystem off and remaking it cause it to go away for another six months? THIS TOPIC HAS BEEN DONE TO DEATH IN THE PAST. PLEASE *MAIL* ME, DON'T POST. I WILL DIGEST IF ANYONE IS STILL INTERESTED. ian -- Ian G Batten, BT Fulcrum - igb@fulcrum.bt.co.uk - ...!uunet!ukc!fulcrum!igb
