I am trying to perform memory tests in a manufacturing test environ- ment where the system needs to be in multi-user mode to run proprietary software. We are using a CPC System 19 running UNIX System V.2. I know I can run memory diagnostics in a ROM mode before booting UNIX, but I also want a way to do some sort of test multi-user. My plan was to snatch as much memory as possible, write a pattern to it, then read it back to verify it. I've tried repeated mallocs, creating large static arrays, setting the sticky bit, and all combinations of the above. The results are always the same; when I hit a certain threshold, the memory I've used is swapped out...... I give up... If anyone has any ideas, please reply to uunet!aspect!ange.
