I have recently found myself in the position of being the system administrator
for a System V 3.0 386 UNIX machine. If someone could tell me how to
learn to be an administator or recommend a good book, etc., that would be
great. Thanks.

You could try "UNIX For Super-Users", by Eric Foxley (Addison-Wesley, was 16 quid when I bought it).
