[comp.unix.questions] uucp and MICOM

ralex@ncrclm.Clemson.NCR.COM (alex) (08/03/89)

I'm having problems getting uucp up and running through a micom terminal
switch. I have an NCR Tower 32/600 with UNIX Sys V 2.01. I am using
HoneyDanBer. My files are set up as follows:

Systems:
systemname Any switch 9600 uusysname "" \r\d\r\d ogin: uuother word: test

Devices:
switch tty09 - 9600 micom

Dialers:
micom ""	"" \s\c NAME \D\r\c CONNECT

I also have Permissions set up, but it is not relavent to this discussion.

I run 'Uutry systemname' with the following results:

mchFind called (systemname)
conn(systemname)
Device Type switch wanted
mlock tty07 succeeded
generic open failed, errno = 9
getto ret -1
Call Failed: CAN'T ACCESS DEVICE
exit code 101
Conversation Complete: Status FAILED

Comments:

1) I know that the port is good
2) I know that the cable is good
3) I am less sure of whether or not micom is set up correctly

If you can help in any way I would appreciate it. Please send your responses
to me and I will summarize.

Thanks for your help.
