I just recently purchased a FastET20 80386 motherboard that had the DTK Bios onboard. Finding that the version of Un*x I have doesn't want anything to do with the DTK Bios, I purchased (mail order) what is supposed to be the latest version of the Phoenix 386 BIOS. This BIOS is version 1.10.00 dated 1986-1989. My question is: Is this really the latest version? I've seen some references to a version 3.xx Phoenix BIOS, and am curious as to whether I've been 'had'! :-) Steve -- --------------------------------------------------------------------------- If it moves, Salute it, if it doesn't paint it gray and sail it! --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Steve Froeschke | uunet!conch!steve

This > BIOS is version 1.10.00 dated 1986-1989. We have had similar problems with the same motherboard. However our motherboard was fitted with a Pheonix bios ver. 1.10.01 . The local suppliers started using the Pheonix bios because the DTK bios would not run OS/2. The Pheonix bios would run Unix on other 386 machines which seems to point to there being something wrong with the way DTK set up their 20MHz motherboards. We have been in touch the suppliers who sya they are working on a patch to the DTK bios. The DTK 25 MHz motherboard runs Unix without any problems.
