(I apologise for this - it is not, strictly speaking, a Unix question. But I have observed that (1) Unix people generally know more about everything than any other group, and (2) a site which would know this would most likely be a Unix site.) We are a site with many non-connected local area networks. We are now in the process of connecting *all* of them into one campus network. We want to obtain a software package which will help us manage the database. (I am not talking about real-time network management -- merely who is on the network, what type of protocol they are using, what projection of traffic they expect, what their ip addresses are, etc., etc.) Before we reinvent the wheel, is there an existing software package (PD or vendor) which does this? Any answers gratefully and humbly appreciated. Please e-mail, as I doubt this is of general interest.
