Ok. So I post question asking if there is a utility to replace write, and I get back 50 replies that say "talk(1)". Thanks to all that answered, but it seems that none of my machines has talk, (and, since some people were not sure, there is no talk in xenix that I can find). So, let me modify the question, is there anything other than talk or write, in unix/ xenix or the public domain, that will allow to users to communicate from one terminal to another? Thanks ahead, (again). -- Robin D. Coolidge, Jr. mcorp!robin@cis.ohio-state.edu MMS International, Inc. robin@mcorp.UUCP "Where women are women, men are men, and sheep are scared." In mid-August, Jim Mattson <mattson@beowulf.ucsd.edu> of UCSD EE/CS posted to alt.sources a System V talk program he wrote that works like Berkeley talk(1). This program also works on SCO Xenix. It is limited to intra-machine talk, but it is small and easy to install. ...Sam -- Samuel Lam <skl@wimsey.bc.ca> or {uunet,ubc-cs}!wimsey.bc.ca!skl
