We are considering the purchase of a freezer. So far, the only
models and prices we've seen are those found in the Sears' catalog.
We plan to shop around and have a look to other makes and models too.
We'd appreciate any information on the important things to look for
and, more specifically, your experience with various models.

Thanks in advance

For a freezer, reliability and good service are most important. Then
such things as cost of operation and ease of cleaning come next. We have
a Whirlpool Freezer which has a little relay that fails about every 5
years on a Friday. We call Whirlpool Service and they send someone
out on Monday to fix our Freezer. This seems almost unbelievable,
but it has happened 3 times. On the other hand, Sears and our local
appliance store repair freezers within a couple hours.
