What are the semantics of "st_dev" for an NFS mounted filesystem? Is there a good, cheap, elegant, and environmentally sound way to map the st_dev for such a filesystem into a network-wide unique filesystem identifier of some sort (like, even, "hostname:/dev/xyzzyd0z")?
